Go back one step and scroll down. It is Workstation v8.1.8325, the most recent update for v8.

It looks like when you click Buy you are making a one-time purchase of v8 Workstation from Macrium's normal Cleverbridge retailer through an associate at a discount. Before Reflect X was launched the v8 Workstation was available as 1, 3, or 5 year plans, or as a one-time purchase. For the one-time purchase this included one year of support, with an option to purchase additional support annually at $34. The one-time perpetual licence was $135 direct from Macrium. Now that Reflect X has been launched v8 is no longer offered on Macrum's own site, but apparently still is through associated business retailers such as Softpedia.

That's the download from Softpedia, but as you pointed out the purchase is via macrium.cleverbridge.com and the item in the cart doesn't say anything about "one-time purchase" or 1-year and the version it shows is 8, not 8.1, hence my confusion.

I guess they have a 30-day return policy, so if it turns out the license doesn't work on 8.1 or it's just 1-year and not perpetual, one can ask for a refund.

A v8 licence is valid for all versions of v8, that includes v8.0.xxxx and v8.1.xxxx, and entitles you to any further updates v8.1 may get in it's 1 year extended support that started when vX was released.

Stage 1: Current Support begins from the release date and lasts until the next full product version is released. For example, Reflect 8 to Reflect 9. The entirety of our customer support services are available during this stage.

Stage 2: Extended Support begins when the Current Support stage ends and lasts for a specific duration. Typically, this is one full year. During this stage, customer support services are limited.

You are talking about Reflect 8 Workstation, a business product. There are two offers for business customers with a v8 licence purchased after 1st April 2024.

Interesting, Home is $80 vs $75 for Workstation. But at least it's explicit in the cart "(One Time Purchase)". I worry that Workstation might be annual, given the lower price vs Home.

I was going to ask whether they'd be willing to convert Workstation to an X Home with the permanent 50% off subscription which they don't seem to offer for Workstation.

How's Workstation different from Home anyway in terms of features? I am just a home user, I don't need any "business" features.

Prices have changed now, Workstation costs more than Home again. I have just bought one more Home v8 perpetual licence through Softpedia and installed it. Note that as a business purchase you'll have to provide a company name as well as your own name. Whatever you type here appears as 'Licensed to:' in About Reflect, I typed Bree. For all my other purchases direct from Macrium it shows my personal name as the licensee.

The newly purchased licence appeared immediately in my Macrium Account, just like the 4-pack of v8 I bought a long time ago directly through Macrium.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

    My SYSTEM THREE is a Dell Latitude 5410, i7-10610U, 32GB RAM, 512GB NVMe ssd, supported device running Windows 11 Pro.

    My SYSTEM FOUR is a 2-in-1 convertible Lenovo Yoga 11e 20DA, Celeron N2930, 8GB RAM, 256GB ssd. Unsupported device: currently running Win10 Pro, plus Win11 Pro RTM and Insider Dev, Beta, and RP 24H2 as native boot vhdx.
