Hello there, I am using a Vulcan II ROCCAT Mechanical Keyboard with red switches. Before that I had a mechanical keyboard too which had similar issues. I've recently struggled with my keyboard and experienced jittering and randomly unresponsive keystrokes when in use. For the jittering I already found a solution however the random cut out of keys is bothering me. I have looked online everywhere, it's all just suggesting to clean the key caps and switches of debris. And also just reinstalling the drivers and keyboard program etc. I have done all of that, yet the problem still persists. I am starting to think that it is an issue with Windows itself. Does anyone have a clue on what it could be?

A dirty keyboard?

My K95 Platinum was repeating keys.
Turned out I needed to clean it so I bought a Compressed Air Can and let it rip.

Be warned though, depending on your keyboard keys, they could end up everywhere. I spent 30 minutes retrieving them from outside where I used the compressed air. But that’s another hilarious story. Like the one where I used a vacuum cleaner and had to fish keys out of it.
I’m not known for intelligence.

If you try it, short controlled bursts, maybe don't press or pull in the trigger all the way.

Yeah, I just removed my key caps and just used a vacuum cleaner and it worked like a charm before you suggested that.

The issues are gone now.

Good to hear.

My ego says I beat you to it, you just weren’t here to witness it.
I can’t afford to have my ego deflated on account that my wife laughs when I am getting changed. I just figure she thinks my pyjamas are funny looking.

Either way. Happy days!
Now, get to typing.

There are no other keyboards. There is only Ducky...

000000 Keyboard Rejuvenating.jpg

I bought the Ducky Shine II and the Shine III (for backup), in 2013.
I type like a pile driver, and eat at the computer desk. 16 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

The pic above (Shine II is after 10 years of abuse).
The Shine III has never been used until "the great keyboard cleaning" of 2023.
The Shine II still "worked" perfectly.

Anyway... I ordered new keycaps ($24), and proceeded to refurbish the Shine II.

There are no other keyboards. There is only... Ducky.
I think they're up to the Shine 7, by now.

Btw, here's the Shine III, 1 year into it's ten year run of abuse.

20241019_201723[1].jpg

The Shine II still works perfectly, and is enjoying a well deserved vacation. 8-)

Eh, it's still there to a degree. I will have to further look into it if it is a computer side issue or not.

Well that’s an anticlimax.

Does the keyboard come with drivers? Have you considered looking for an older driver or two and roilling back?

Yeah, it comes with software and drivers. But I am also questioning myself if it is my fault on the way how I tip, I tried the keyboard without it's drivers and it still had an issue.

I punch my keyboard with my fist to type, I am a shocker.

I just thought that if this is something new that you’re experiencing, unless you’ve had recent nerve damage or been aflicked with something that makes your fingers act on their own, then perhaps it’s a recent driver update. Or Windows update?

Your Windows build was quite stable for me when I had it.
