I'm so thankful for all the help I've gotten here with moving from Win 7 to Win 11 earlier this year. Not having much hair to start with, it was a blessing not to have to pull more of it out.

This year has not been kind to me, but I'm still alive after having major surgery, with more to come next year.

I've been battling bowel / colon cancer. I had a stoma bag for 6 months. My surgeon told me that if the cancer was any lower, then I would have had a permanent bag. I hated the bag for 6 months. I don't think that I could have handled life with it permanently.

This is not some fancy graphical virtual holiday greeting; just a a sincere holiday message.
It's amazing how people can develop "relationships" without knowing people's names or faces, but here we are. I've learned a lot from reading all your posts and want to thank each of you for imparting your knowledge, experience, and patience to the readers of this forum. I wish each of and you and your families the happiest of Christmases and a prosperous New Year. We'll do it all again with whatever 2024 brings. Y'all be safe out there, you hear?

Sorry, I refuse to acknowlege XMAS this early. Xmas music this early in shops makes me want to grind my teeth.

I would pass a law saying XMAS music can only be played in December.



Also, many councils in UK no longer acknowledge it either.
Aberdeen disresptively calls it the Winter Festival (slightly less cringeworthy than US style Happy Holidays) but unashamedly acknowledge other non Christian festivals such as Ramadan.

So sorry to hear you've had to go through that, @Stigg. I will put you in my "forum prayers". So many of us old-timers here are having to deal with bad unexpected health stuff when we should be spending this time of our life sitting on a beach somewhere. Along with you, I've noticed the absence of several of our other most valuable contributing members and think about them often. I know @Winona has had a difficult year, too. @Kari has been in my thoughts, as well.

Though we're all strangers, over time our interactions with each other makes us friends. I like to know what is going on with my friends. We're all in this together.
Visit us when you can and post when you feel like it. That way we know you're OK. God Bless and bundles of virtual love.

Every December I drive around random suburbs and streets hurling frozen turkey legs out the window at unsuspecting pedestrians.
Nothing more life affirming than being slapped upside the head with a piece of frozen dead meat.
I’ve read that this is illegal and that there is a possibility of permanent mental trauma but Christmas is all about giving.
Boxing day I piff paper bags full of prawn guts & shells that have been fermenting outside on a hot Aussie christmas day, instead.
Am I trying to start a religious war? Yes.
Am I worried about going to hell? No, we at the Church Of Cageism do not recognise hell outside of Cage Movies.

Hah ha - somebody replies to an old thread and others like me add more replies not realising LOL.

I only acknowledge XMAS after 20/12/24 (my birthday being 19th).

When I was a kid I was always peeved that I would be given a present for birthday and XMAS but my brother would get a birthday present (in October) and an Xmas present. I would not have minded so much except my dual birthday/xmas present was usually the same as my brother got for Xmas!
