Solved Missing Icons on Desktop

Hi, First post from me. All of a sudden, all of my icons (Recycle Bin, etc) have disappeared from my desktop and all I have is the Picture. I have changed that to a windows picture with the same result. I have not made any software changes prior to this happening. Never happened before. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks, Ray

right click on the desktop > view > show desktop icons

is that checked or unchecked?
