What phone do you have?

Pretty much only samsungs offer phone mirroring or desktop like with dex. Iphones all offer video out

You're pretty much out of luck and will just need to get the screen repaired.

Not going to happen as even if there were a software, you more than likely would need to allow permissions via your phone, and you can’t because it’s black. I am pretty sure, as Andrew said above, it’s a screen repair job.

However… Jack, you said it’s totally black? That could be something worse. A cracked screen is one thing, you can still see light and image behind the cracks. A black screen is something totally different. How are you able to tell it is even working?

I can tell there is life in the phone (its a samsung) because there is a tiny bit of visable screen left, and its giving a notification tone every 3 minutes But the rest of the screen is black .

Have you ever connected anything to that phone before, if so, does it not ask for approval or confirmation? How will you allow a connection if you cant see the screen to approve one?

I can see by the image that you have some pretty grave damage to something in your phone. It could be as simple as a new screen it could be deeper. There is every possibility all you would see on a mirrored device is what you see on your phone, but that’s if you can connect it in the first place. But I am just guessing.

I personally think you’re asking in the wrong forum. I’d be trying a Samsung forum.
And you really should take it to a phone repair kiosk or store.

The problem is that it will be necessary to grant some permissions from the screen. If the image doesn't sound right at all, it's a problem.

What I would do first is, see if you can connect the phone to your PC via USB and salvage your photos and stuff, just in case you have to ditch the device.

Yeah but you normally need to respond to a pop up screen on phone to allow connection.

Yeah, I thought about that. And chances are pretty slim that the OP has Default USB Config set through Dev Options! 🤷‍♂️ Whaddaya gonna do!

You're screwed without a working screen. You have to interact with it to do any type of mirroring or casting
