Solved My pc started performing poorly

If a PC ran good last week, and now it doesn't, I have to ask, "What has Changed".
Drivers don't change, and most likely the hardware has not changed. So what did?
As a working PC repair tech for 40+ years, I can easily answer that question.
But, when I do, I'm either POO POO'd or just ignored.

In most cases I have restored a PC to its Like New condition with just a 30 minute Tune UP.
I'll start with getting rid of every junk file on the PC, now using my Cleanup.bat batch file.
Like this: (this is the little report I get every time I run my Cleanup.bat batch file.)
Cleanup 5-27-24.jpg
That is just after one day of typical PC usage. (I try to run this batch file at the end of each day)

Just imagine what that "Files deleted" number would look like after many months or a year or more.

I once tuned up a laptop that was barely even running, while I sat with that laptop at the bar, in the El Toreo Mexican restaurant, in Ocala, FL.
The laptop's owner was ready to take a hammer to that little PC. He relied on that laptop for his business, and of course it never got any Maintenance at all. Day after day, it accumulated more Junk files.

After I got it all cleaned up and tuned up, I installed a little self-cleaning batch file, to run from the Startup folder, on a daily basis.
When all done, his comment to me was "WOW, it didn't run that fast when it was brand new!"

Nothing had really changed on that Laptop, except for the daily accumulation of temp files, etc. The poor little lappy was just severely 'Conjested' and required a DE-Conjestant.

That's all folks!

For you maybe how do you know what others know you are waste of time for just thinking everyone know everything you do.
Again, i have no issue with the info in the video, it just coulda been typed in a few minutes or you coulda cut that 18 minutes to around 3 or 4.
call of duty black ops 3

OMG

Computers and programmes have evolved since then. Now everything usually works out of the box and you don't always have to reinstall something.

bon voyage
I know it was black ops 3, there was just several replies of people trying to help without even knowing that, that was all.

Im assuming that second part is sarcasm at which is salute, if its not then please god save us LOL. I update new gpu drivers every few weeks or month whenever they release, as should all.
This guide will cover the best Nvidia Control Panel settings for maximum gaming performance for Laptops and Desktops.

Only thing in here worth while is setting gpu to max performance, the rest will make you're games look like a potato, Just please stop you're causing more harm that help here mate.

Drivers don't usually change themselves you're correct, but he re-installed windows so the latest nvidia driver wouldn't usually just install itself.
But this is the kind of response i was hoping the op would get, you're 100% correct in saying that when you do a response like that 10 other people add suggestions and the OP then doesn't know what to follow, so they choose the easiest or least problematic resolution and most of the time have further issues and then we end up with spaghetti junction of resolutions.
Its replies like you that are actually meaningful, helpful and you elaborate. More like you please!

This thread is an absolute joke with some of these responses, Long gone are the SevenForum days where things were actually done properly.

Not one person advising to re-install drivers, Not one person asked what game, Everyone with the random answers that aren't helping (Yes i know op didn't exactly help out much here) but come on to foodle.

And i aint gonna say anything further, but that 18 MINUTE VIDEO was one of the biggest wastes of time sifting through. Absolute nonsense.

That is quite a small factor.
Merely changing maybe 1 or 2 advanced settings in your game will increase your fps.

You have to try it and see the result. Much easier than any other suggestion, apart from post #2 point 1. So no idea why you are not doing just that, you had the same question a month ago.

If you have reinstalled windows, then you might want to checkout motherboard website to download the exact chipset drivers for motherboard. If you gave a specific motherboard with some good features, those might not be activated with windows generic drivers.

OP seems a little confused about what certain terminology means ... format, system reset, "didn't restore anything", "reset to clean all my drives", ... and so on.

It may be a language thing, it may be an inexperience thing, but until the OP clarifies the exact steps (clicked this, clicked that, chose this option, clicked this, etc) not much more can be explained

EDIT Despite @ShamrockRig post above being derisive of all contributors so far, I do accept the overlooked point of (manually) updating drivers, the Windows supplied drivers may be inadequate.

Options
- check your video card specs and download the driver direct from the manufacturers web site
or
- download Snappy Driver Installer ORIGIN (note Origin version only) and run to update video/display drivers ONLY

Steps to take ...
- unzip the contents and save (copy) to a separate folder
- run the analysis file SDIO_x64_R764.exe
-Accept the license agreement
- select Download indexes only
- wait for the index to download (watch top bar of program window)
- untick Create restore point (waste of time. You should have made your usual image of the drive anyway)
- tick ONLY the appropriate drivers you want
- left hand column, see Install (x) where x is the number of drivers you ticked; click Install (x)
- go and make a cup of coffee, it's not the fastest program in the world.

OP your system specs show this is a Ryzen system. A b450 motherboard using a Ryzen 3 3400g processor. When you had the system reset and reloaded Windows did you then install the latest AMD chipset drivers? Microsoft Update typically will not update the required AMD drivers like it does somewhat with Intel chipset drivers.
@6_6_ Did you install the AMD chipset drivers as @BamaInArk suggested? You can download them from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/downloads/drivers.html/chipsets/am4/b450.html

If you prefer, you should be able to find them on your motherboard's drivers page, but they will not be as up to date as the ones from the AMD page above.

I have found in the past that installing the chipset drivers has the most effect on ensuring a good experience on my system.

You think max performance gives more FPS what kid of graphic card do you use, i wonder must be beast.
:eek1:
It actually does, not much but a couple, max performance allows you're gpu to run at its max frequency at all times without lowering it, Eg i run my gpu at 2080mhz, if i turn from max performance..it drops to anything inbetween 1700 and 2080, i dont want it dropping therefore max performance allows it to retain the oc i have on it.

Mate who are you talking to? Theres a reason every video you post on this forum gets slagged and ripped to bits, you've annoyed people for far too long with you're daft videos that are there purely for clicks, subscribers and views, Off and do one mate, this set of forums was here long before you and you're wide ass attitude, all due to mr free booter not being able to take constructive criticism, i also actually apologized at one point due to being a bit heavy handed but dyou know what mate, you can ram that up youre hoop. This forum would genuinely be better off if you just didn't partake. All you do is provide videos that are x10 longer than needed, Robotic replies for views on youtube.

To answer a question from a previous post, I have repeatedly made my "Cleanup.bat" file available to anyone who asked for it.

I could email it to anyone in the world, as a text file, which then could be converted into a .bat file. Google, for instance, will block any 'Executable file' like an .exe or even a .bat file, so sending it as a .txt file is the best answer.

Or, which I've actually done before, I could just post the text of the file here, and anyone wanting to try it, could copy the text, paste it into their favorite word processor and save it as "Cleanup.bat".

I've written my batch file to delete all the Temporary Internet Files from Firefox, Edge and Chrome. If someone is using a different Browser, they need to find where that browser stores its TMP's and add that line to the Batch file. Or, just ask me for a customized version of the program.

Here's the current version of my "Cleanup.bat" program:

@Echo off

Just copy the blue text and paste it into your word processor and save it as "Cleanup.bat".
Then it can be run like any other Windows program.
