No Weather Widget On Taskbar?


I just checked cause I thought I had that stuff updated... I had the "Web Experience Pack" or whatever it's called, but did NOT have the "Local Experience Pack" installed, so I grabbed the US version and installed it. Rebooted the computer and my Widgets still don't work, therefore still no weather info, but I have the 'double pane' icon that animates when you click it, but doesn't open anything.

I did an in-place upgrade of Windows and after that was completed, my Widgets worked again and after about 7 or 8 reboots doing Windows Updates, the icon was in the far left where it should be with no weather. However, once I opened the Widgets the first time after that final reboot, the icon changed to Weather correctly.

The weather widget is so cute! It can't decide which monitor to open on. Sometimes it will open on my far left when I hover over the middle. Sometimes it open on the middle when I hover over the middle. :rolleyes:

Does the Weather Icon auto refresh? Before I turned off Widgets, I noticed that it wasn't refreshing and was showing the weather from the day before. The day I noticed it was a rainy day. The day before was sunny.

Mine does, not sure how often but I see the temp as well as the sun, moon , clouds etc change throughout the day.

It didn't refresh for me until I clicked on it. My first thought was that if it doesn't refresh , what good is it.

I still have Widgets turned off. I was testing it to see I if liked the weather widget or the weather app in 8GadgetPack better. I like the MS Weather app but for some reason on all of my devices running the Dev builds when in detail mode the hours no longer show. The Weather app works good on my wife's laptop.

The hours only show on mine if set to large. Detail mode? you mean the actual weather app and not the weather widget>

If it wasn't for my Macrium images to bail me out I would be doing the same. The only computer that wouldn't be a pain to do a clean install is my laptop. All of the programs installed on it are very easy to reinstall. It's mostly used to access the internet when I go outside to my shed (man cave).

I was being facetious. I thought that clear by the statement following that it couldn't decide on which monitor to appear - clearly a bug.

I doesn't help with my obsession for what the weather's like. I might have to disable it, though that spot will be naked now that I've seen something there!
