Solved Notepad won't let me write in the locate box

It's working well for me, I have the same Notepad version and the same build version.

Yes is the new one. I did all the suggested steps and it's still the same, I even changed to the white theme if it wasn't a bug in the dark theme, anyway... I will try to uninstall and install again by the store.

Uninstalled and installed from the windows store and still have the same problem. Hopefully in a next update it will work normally.

Reading through the post at The New Windows 11 Notepad app shows the "New" Notepad is quite a bit different from the 'classic' version we are familiar with so functions obviously will be different, same as with any other new or changed things.

In the uninstaller programs I only see the installed programs, the Microsoft system app's are not listed so I can't uninstall the notepad with those programs.

In Geek look under the view tab for the Win Apps option and Revo has a Windows App option on the main tool bar. You only need one of the programs.

Works for me. Try Resetting Notepad.

Open Settings > Apps, find Notepad and click on the three dots (menu) on the right.

Select Advanced options, scroll down to find the Reset button. Try Repair first, if that doesn't fix it try Reset.

I uninstalled with Geek as suggested and removed all the residual files, installed from the Windows Store and when launching Notepad it was the same, with no possibility to write in the find words box.

Good to see you fixed this. It would seem most problems are sorted out with the repair install method. I have used it a few times in the past when nothing else has worked. It is a painless way to fix what ails windows.
