One year from today, on October 14, 2025, support will end for all Office 2016 and 2019 suites, standalone apps, and servers. This includes:

What happens when a product reaches end of support?​

After a product's support period ends, Microsoft no longer provides:
  • Security fixes for vulnerabilities that are discovered and that may make devices, apps, or servers more directly exposed to security breaches.
  • Bug fixes for issues that are discovered and that may impact the stability and usability of the product.
  • Technical support for problems that may occur.
Continuing to use products after their end of support can negatively impact organizational security, compliance, and productivity. Because migrations can take time, we recommend starting your upgrade to supported versions of these products as soon as possible.

They announced 5 years of standard support (2018 to 2023) and only 2 years of extended support (2023-2025) on this product when it was released.

Microsoft Office 2019 - Microsoft Lifecycle

Microsoft Office 2019 follows the Fixed Lifecycle Policy.

Typically they offer 5 years of extended support, but shorted it to 2 years on 2019.

On 2021, they are not doing any extended support. So, it's supports ends with standard support which is in Oct of 2026. Same is true with Office 2024, it will only have the 5 years of mainstream support.

With all that said, not sure how important support is on Office products. I see people posting all the time about using 2003, or 2007 office versions. As long as they run, and you can author a doc or create a spreadsheet, I think that's the crux of what people want.
