WOW, so much hate and discontent over something as simple and basic as a keyboard or a mouse.
Ever since "Mouse.com", used in DOS, every version of Windows has come with a more than adequate mouse driver, and no externally installed drivers are required. That goes along with my basic rule of Computing, "KISS = Keep it simple stupid!"
However, I do vaguely remember some kind of Mouse software, years ago, that caused all sorts of problems. I stopped using it then and I've never used any form of Mouse software since. As for Logitech WiFi mice, I get mine at Walmart for under $20.
They feel good and have a very smooth operation.
Likewise the keyboard. Microsoft's default Keyboard drivers are sufficient.
I'm currently using a Mechanical Keyboard like I've seen advertised on the internet for over $100. I got mine at a discount store for $7.95. I love the feel of the Mechanical Key switches. However, this keyboard did not come with any special drivers. It didn't need them.
The label on the keyboard tells me it's a model K101. And,,, "Made in China". Go Figure!
For the first time in my life, I like a keyboard so much, I went back to the store and bought four more.
A plus is, that each keyboard come with a little package of spare key switches. Sure they have to be soldered in, but it's still quite a Plus.
While working on BIG Computer keyboards, years ago, I've soldered in hundreds of replacement key switches. That's better than having to replace a whole keyboard just because one key switch failed.
Cheers Mates,
