Hello there

Though i only see 1 Onedrive icon in Taskbar

Did i mess up my clean install already?

Is there a way to fix this so it only shows once?

Generally anything in the Navigation panel in File Explorer showing above This PC is a shortcut to the actual item. Right-click of an item and Properties should show the actual location. There can be duplicates.

Yes it shows the actual Onedrive folder where the files actually are syncing to. Not sure if the shortcut was there previously or not in old Install, as i didn't really pay attention back then, but noticed it now--so got concerned lol, thinking it was duplicates of the files, but yes i guess could be shortcuts

This was as clean install as i could get with Windows on this PC, as it picked up Home key Embedded in bios, so dumbo me signed in on Admin account, into MS store, and upgraded back to Pro thru there, and then made it local account again later. Then setup Standard user MS Account like i normally use.

If that screwed it up any--then all my fault lol, but i did unlink from Admin account eariler

Maybe i just panic too much

Might also look at the additional choices on the right-click menu of an item, may be able to Unpin or Remove it from Home or Quick Access.

Yeah i'll look around to see if unpin option or Remove from that part of File explorer, maybe i accidently clicked Pin while reinstalling all the software eariler, who knows lol

Meanwhile tries to chill!! and will get it sorted eventually fully eventually here lol

Meanwhile system is performing great otherwise lol

just will have to look around, and go from there i think in this case

Edit: Got it to only show Once now, with a Microsoft Answers forum little Regedit post, (normally i don't mess with Registry, but already had system image backup done, so i was like well i'll give this a shot--Now only shows just 1 Onedrive in the File explorer Window
((Now if Comcast only had Mid-split in this area with 100MB upload lol, but guess 20MB isn't too bad lol, just takes a little while longer haha))

What i used to solve it--Towards bottom of that page (if not a good idea to post this as part of this post--then i will delete

Not Solved--Came back after a Restart

So plan now is wait til i can afford a NEW Boot M.2, if current M.2 still works fine, then will make that temporary Game M.2 drive (Til my birthday in February, then just clone Temp Game M.2 to the new Game M.2 drive--Either Samsung or Western Digital, or Kingston Fury or possibly Crucial T500 based drives might go with) and use the Sata SSD just for storage & Move Onedrive to the Sata Drive at that point.

In any case i will have the issue solved eventually fully

**Unless renaming Old Onedrive folder after unlinking from this Account--to Onedrive-Old so it creates a NEW Folder wonders if that would work to just have 1 folder showing in Explorer, or is it better to just go with Plan A lol

As this thread is only 'just' over a month old, hope it's ok to continue it - as I have exactly the same oddity, and found this thread helpful in doing some digging.
A screen shot of my explorer 'tree' is attached - showing two personal 'OneDrive' folders in the tree.
The understanding I've got from this thread shows me that these are just two visual image of the same OneDrive 'folder', so that's been a relief.

What I've not been able to ascertain is any way to remove the duplicate - simply because I sometimes get myself in a muddle when I'm doing lots of file stuff, and maybe 20 years ago, I'd be much quicker in picking up what I'm doing, but not anymore
Now this just irks me, as I have my own documents on my C: drive on the PC, an sometimes end up with folders open in both those virtual views of the OneDrive folder, and I've been trying to move stuff, and making invalid assumptions about 'where' I am as I've accidentally opened two separate OneDrive 'views.
All of which I realise is surmountable.

So - anyone else out there with a smart way to delete one of the two 'views'? I've checked the Properties of each 'view' and they're identical (from 2022 when PC arrived, so just want to delete a 'view' somehow

I also tried resetting OneDrive (per a suggestion in a search) which didn't work either - appear I don't actually have the OneDrive 'app' (didn't even realise that, but then I don't really see why I need it I guess). But that reset might work for someone else one day
