Only one click to change focus and activate something?

Clearly you didn't do what I asked, because this happens on any computer. Load TWO apps, side by side, so they are both displayed AT ONCE. Not just open at once, actually on the screen, visible at the same time, half a screen each for example. Work in one app. Now try to click something in the other app (where "other app" is either Office or Wordpad), say a menu. It doesn't work! You have to click a second time!

Just curious. For the sake of troubleshooting; do all of your computers have the start menu, taskbar, file explorer tweaker apps installed? I'm not experiencing these issues; but I do not use any third-party GUI tweaks. I've tried MS and non-MS apps side-by-side and they work as expected. I also don't use any third-party AV software. I have 3 PCs with W11( 2 Home, and 1 Pro version) and none of them currently have these symptoms. I hope you can sort this out. That would be super annoying to deal with that on a daily basis.

It nothing to do with my computers, it happens on any computer owned by anyone. It's the way MS stuff works. Here you go, try to do EXACTLY what I did in the video. Click the NOT IN FOCUS Wordpad's menu. It will bring Wordpad to focus, but NOT open the menu. Click the menu again, and it opens. The app only responds to clicks when it is ALREADY IN FOCUS.

You will notice in the video I only needed one click once to come back to the browser, yet Wordpad needed two.

Jeez, it's quite hard to video your desktop and hide the porn

I stand corrected. I did exactly what your video displayed. I tried this on 2 computers. Originally I was copying text from 1 program and right-clicking and pasting into another. It's the part when you select a menu item where it requires 2 clicks. I'm going to try this on one of my Windows 10 PCs and see if I get the same result. LOL sharing a youtube video. The algorithm makes me look like some kind of weirdo when the video is finished on what to view next.

That's weird the right click works. Nothing else does. You can't for example left click in a different part of the text. It seems MS are even more inconsistent than I thought!

I don't right click to paste, it's too slow. I use both hands. Left click with the mouse then CTRL-V with the keys.

It'll be the same on Windows 10, it was the same on every Windows I can remember. Back in days of 286s and Windows 2, a friend was boasting his Archimedes only needed one click. Three decades later the bug still remains.

I can't test it myself, I have eight Windows 11 machines. Oh wait, there's the one which won't boot off anything with the screwed up BIOS, I think I put 10 on there with an old DVD drive I found dusty in a cupboard. Yes, Windows 10 has the bug.

The what to view next should be based on your own Youtube history (I hope!) Although if you saw "Geordie masturbating", that's just one of my parrots. Been on there a year and nobody's asked for it to be taken down yet, so I guess prudes are picky, only humans are rude.

I think you've "proven" that MS did this on purpose.
Maybe now we have to try to figure out "why" they did this on purpose. ^^

Like the new Win 11 context menu. At first I was like... wth?!? Why would anyone think that was an improvement.
Then I realized that MS probably did that for those with wildly smaller screens.
Those that might not want a seriously "long" context menu.

I can't see how it prevents unintended edits. What it does is make you edit the wrong bit!

Or what if I click the save button when it isn't in focus, Guess what, no save!

That thing is preposterously stupid. They removed the most common things, copy, paste etc. What?!? So I'm meant to figure out what the funny little icons are at the top I didn't even notice to begin with? No, I use words. I don't know what the symbols on my washing machine mean either. Hieroglyphs are for Neanderthals.

So.... I accidentally click outside the game, and continue to hammer the fire key, and how does one extra click needed help this? All it does is make me edit a different part.

All the changes are stupid. I've never found anything better about newer windowses, apart from less crashing. All the interface stuff is horrid, and everyone gets programs to revert!

You can get Office that cheap? I thought it was over $100? I'm not too familiar with pricing.

Paint? Why do they even include that? I don't think there's anything you can actually do with it.

Making assumptions about the folks trying to help you won't get your problem solved.

Dru has your problem pegged, but you have rudely written him off.

With the focus on document 1, it takes one click to change focus to document 2, then a second click to put the cursor where you want it into the newly "focused" document.

And with that, I'm outta here . . . before I get into trouble.

Exactly, you seem to have understood. Although you haven't suggested how I fix it. There must be a third party tool like there is for every other interface screwup.
