Hi everyone, I wanted to know if it was possible to set the opening of a jpg and png image with a specific editing program via a key combination?

I often find myself clicking first with the right button and then going to open with and selecting the program, I wanted to understand if it was possible to set for example with ALT + right button the automatic opening of that photo already loaded in the program.

Is it possible? thanks

what format (or both of the ones you listed?) and what key combo do you want. it can be done with autohotkey scripting

Mainly I need it for .png
But if it can also be done with .jpg so I can have both formats I use it would be great,

I use Clavier+ is it ok anyway?

a no maybe I misunderstood, the clavier+ program is used to set the combination on the keyboard to start programs/folders and files.

I would need to open the .png with a key combination on paint3d

I hope that the default mode of the png will not be changed later.
I only need it to open the .png more quickly on paint3d when I need to modify them, I want to keep the default program for viewing the images

sorry i checked the notifications and never clicked this one so forgot to come back here. easy enough. since paint3d is no longer updated, the path should be easy to script into it. test this for me to make sure it is the same on your pc, or we will update your paint3d manually.

Win+R and run
Code:
"%ProgramFiles%\WindowsApps\Microsoft.MSPaint_6.2410.13017.0_x64__8wekyb3d8bbwe\PaintStudio.View.exe"
that should launch paint3d. if it does, i'll get the hotkey script uploaded for you

I've just went an easier route, so you wont have to wait for more back and forth.

save the .zip attached and extract the .exe inside.
place the .exe where ever you want (your shell:startup folder?)
double click to run it. it will run in your tray.
open your Start Menu > All Apps list
scroll down to Paint 3D, click and drag a shortcut to your desktop.
Move that shortcut to "C:\temp" (just create that folder).

now when you left click to select and image, you can hold ALT and Right Click it to open it with Paint3D. Will work for any image (as it copies the selected item to your clipboard and pastes it into paint3d once opened).

When I try to do the key combination, it gives me this error

maybe because I don't have the autohotkey program installed on my computer?

I got confused on this step, just a moment.

I went to the C drive and created a Temp folder and put the PaintStudio.View.exe file inside

is this wrong?

You know, but I didn't understand why after restarting the computer to see if everything worked, the image that I want to open on Pain3d via the script is a blank sheet.
I don't understand

I inserted the file you created in the shell:startup folder
I restarted the computer to check if everything worked, the command also works, but inside paint3d I no longer see the open image but a blank sheet

After the reboot, however, nothing worked anymore
Now even opening with the combination doesn't work anymore.
