Erin wants to watch movies and listen to music on it. I may not use it as much but it's for her and if it makes her happy it's well worth it

Plus w/ a Firestick one can cut the cable/satellite TV & save a tone of $$$.
Get (free) streaming movies/sports/etc. easily & only pay for the Fs measly cost.

I would do that, but it's the only time I drive my wife's car. She doesn't leave the house much due to her severe chronic neutropenia, so someone has to make sure her car is still running!

My wife is lucky she has a trunk because I like driving my car more. Her car is faster, though. Of course, it's not about the speed, it's about the driving experience. Not to say her car doesn't have a great driving experience. My Z-car is shaped like a missile, and those are always fun to drive! Plus, when you hit the gas on my car, you know you're accelerating. She has a continuous variable transmission, so even though her car beats mine in terms of time taken to go 0-60 (hers is something like 4.1 seconds while mine is 5.4 seconds

), you don't get that fantastic gear shifting feeling.

I wouldn't say $9.00 wasted. Your future proofing. :) I'm sure it will eventually be used.

That's great to hear, Joan. I find Windows 11 fairly simple to navigate. Once you get used to it, you hardly miss the features in Windows 10 that are missing from Windows 11.

Not the USB 19-pin to key-A adapter I was looking for, but it will have to do. I think the one I purchased ceilings at 5GBs, but they all appear to do the same. I was looking for a back panel USB-C port (the name in the order is incorrect), and this is what I ended up cobbling together. Now, if I can just find time to install it once it comes!

I thought about getting a USB-C card, but those I looked at all topped out at 5GBs as well. This solution looks a little cleaner and has less parts that can fail.

Purchased a copy Office 365 Family plan after tiring of using my school's free Office 365 suite (also requires some level of school control of your PC, though not quite sure what it was).

I was actually on my second 4 year student/teacher edition of Office 365 ($79 bucks) renewal when it finally expired in July of this year (2021). That offer is no longer available, so I was taking advantage of my school's offer of Office 365 Enterprise for students, but I'd rather have my own suite. Still using the school's suite on my laptop though.

Oh, one other thing for those using OneDrive with 1TB of free drive storage courtesy of Office 365.... don't let your Office subscription expire. You will immediately drop from 1TB of space to 5gig

That means anything over the now 5gig storage allotment is subject to be deleted by Microsoft unless you either purchase more space or renew your subscription. At that time I'd had something like 400gig of files I had to move or lose

I have a OneDrive for business account from my school (I think it's 1.5TB free space) but I wasn't using that for obvious reasons... privacy.

It didn't take me long to get use to the basics of Win 11. I didn't even move the taskbar. The only unofficial change I made was to add the clock to the second monitor with ElevenClock. I did have to hide it because it is always on top and I just started running Win 10 Pro in Hyper-V on my second monitor.

I made two online purchases this week. My first purchase was a copy of Win 10 Pro that I installed in Hyper-V on my new desktop. My second purchase was an 8''and a 6" electric range cast iron burner covers. They arrive tomorrow.
