What’s your chair like, @Edwin? Maybe you could get yourself a new fancy chair that massages your back and actually speaks to you “Oh Yeah, I identify Edwin sitting. Edwin, have you been going to the Gym?” “Edwin, you are perfect in every way, in all that you do. You are a master of your crafts” “Edwin, please shift your weight a little, I had a large breakfast”

Thanks for the info, gents!
I was gonna grab it, just for :poop:'s and giggles..., I even told her, if it sucks, I'm bringing it right back..., she was cool with that! 🤷‍♂️
When I wasted (paid) $350 on mine, I swore it was going help me become more creative with my editing skills in Photoshop. I use the Crown on my Logitech Craft keyboard, more than I've ever used that tablet.

Honestly, it's more for people who like to sketch or draw, even on your photos. I do neither, but didn't learn that until after I got it, toyed with it, and sat (still sitting) in my closet. I never even used the spare pen and tips I bought with it :(

It's still useful as it's also BT and touch, so I can hook it up and use it as a remote touch screen.

I was thinking the same..., just doing a bit of InPaint brush tooling in Affinity, the last couple days..., so clumsy with a mouse, even on slow pointer speed! 🤷‍♂️ We'll see, it's not a matter of life or death!

Yeah, that's what I got it for. The biggest thing is getting use to using it. If you like to draw and doodle, it'll probably be great. I mainly got mine for brushes in Photoshop, but I found I was just too use to mouse and keyboard.

The other thing is calibrating it to your monitor's screen size and using it from there. They also have different sizes, I'd try a medium first, and go from there. The way I was using mine, I should have gotten a small over the medium.

One you start using one, you'll see what I'm talking about in size.

Do let us know how it goes? :-)

LOL - So much for the Wacom
Yeah..., I appreciate the suggestions, but, as you alluded to, I don't think I'll use it enough to justify the price! 🤷‍♂️
Enjoy the monitor

I have a Wacom Intuos CTL480 that I bought for a birthday present for my son's girlfriend. I bought it a few months early because it was on sale for a good price. They broke up before her birthday so she never got it. I do still have it and as I keep saying to myself, I'm going to try to use it for editing some of my pictures. It still hasn't happened. The best edited picture I have made is of my wife and I standing in front of the White House cutting our wedding cake. I used a mouse to carefully remove the background from the original picture. It took me a long time to get it right. I don't remember the name of the program I used. The only thing I do know is that it came with one of my printers. I don't even remember what version of Windows I was running at the time. The White House pic came with the software.

Yeah..., I appreciate the suggestions, but, as you alluded to, I don't think I'll use it enough to justify the price! 🤷‍♂️
If only I'd followed my advice as I look long and hard before buying it. Still...

Can never have too many monitors!
I don't think I'll ever go back to a standard monitor, Ultra-wide's are so versatile in so many ways.
I'm still operating on one and perfectly fine with it :-)

The best edited picture I have made is of my wife and I standing in front of the White House cutting our wedding cake. I used a mouse to carefully remove the background from the original picture. It took me a long time to get it right. I don't remember the name of the program I used. The only thing I do know is that it came with one of my printers. I don't even remember what version of Windows I was running at the time. The White House pic came with the software.
I'm slowly learning how to work efficiently in Affinity..., slowly! I'm still at the 'I suck at this' stage!
I'm slowly learning how to work better with Photoshop. I shoot in RAW, edit in Lightroom, finalize in Photoshop.

Anyway, I might breakout the Wacom tablet just to mess around with it.

I have a picture of my wife's great great niece that I want to change the background. When I do I'll setup and try the Wacom. I have arthritis in my right hand thumb and the Wacom might make it easier than using a mouse.

With today's A.I. infused software (Photoshop) and masking algorithms, there's zero need for a tablet today to change image backgrounds. Some apps such as Photoshop can do it in as little as a few clicks. It's the refining process that can be time consuming....

For the simple.... (basically the same as above but no fussing about edges or hair)...

With today's A.I. infused software
I just tried MS Photos to remove the background of the photo and I have to admit it did a great job. Now I just need to add a background. I did get the Wacom installed. I used the included cd and the setup sent me to their website. Thinking the program would send me to the correct setup page I went ahead and clicked the download and did the install. The software installed but I kept getting a This device is no longer compatible. Try updating the driver message. I used Windows to update the driver and it did update. The pad still didn't work so I went back to the Wacom driver download page and one recommendation was to try older drivers. Tried but the driver wouldn't install because of it being older. I went into Device Manager and couldn't find the device even with the show hidden devices selected. Using Revo I was able to delete everything so I could start over. This time I did a search for the actual device and found that the driver I first downloaded must have been for a different device. Do you know what the different color pen ring and pad strap is for?

I don't know which model you have but they (mine) also have firmware updates. Check that yours doesn't need one.

BTW, which model do you have again?

Try updating the driver message. I used Windows to update the driver and it did update.
Those drivers will only come from Wacom, so forget Windows Update.

If you're talking the pens with the color rings, it's so you know what pen holds which tip - There are different tips and sizes ;-)

If your pen has a base like this....

20231230_171119.jpg

Put it between your palms and twist. The bottom should unscrew and reveal a housing for tips....

20231230_171005.jpg

If you use different tips just change the ring on the pen to distinguish between the two or more pens. You can remove the bottom part of the pen to change both ring and tip.

I must have been short changed. I didn't get any extra tips. I bought it years ago so I can't return it. :-)
