I can relate to brand loyalty as well.
The current rig is my first AMD CPU-based build, and again, due to me not being happy with Intel's shenanigans. My move to NVidia (have having used the old ATI AGP card, and Diamond before that, was simply because of stability in Linux as well, it just worked better (not by much in old days - but it did work lol).
All my video cards since my 8800GTS from 2008 have been from eVGA (except for a GTX 250 from PNY that I got for free). I'm gonna miss that for sure, though I should not need a new card for a while, the current one should hold me over for a couple of years at least.
Also, I did not realize you were sygnus21 either - but I'm like pparks - I don't get too in depth with people on forums, mostly.
Mobos I've not had a lot of experience with, but my last 2 were eVGA, and before that I had a variety - Tyan, MSI, and ... some other brand, don't remember (not counting, of course, OEM mobos). When I was still using mechanical drives, I originally started with Conner, but when WD bought them up and I had entirely too many failures on both WDs and Hitachi, I started sticking to Seagate. Since SSDs, though, I've jumped around quite a bit - I've had Intel, SanDisk, Corsair, and more recently, Sabrent and Samsung.
I could go through the entire component list, but it'd be both long and boring. lol. Suffice it to say we all have our own little loyalties, and I choose mine based mostly upon my own experiences with any given company.
