Sorry to hear that. Are you running this down out of curiosity or is it a practical problem?

Well if you buy from Asus then it's definitely not hidden. Rather, it's in their FAQ where everyone can see it. With utmost clarity... lol [Motherboard]How to set and enable WOL(Wake On Lan) function in BIOS | Official Support | ASUS Global@hdmi
Thanks for the tip. I have an Asus board, but after reading the article you posted it prompted me to check my BIOS settings.
Sure enough, there is a Power On By PCI-E option hidden in the APM menu which apparently enables or disables WOL for this PC, regardless of which NIC is used.
I will check and make sure it is enabled shortly. Not that I need it, but it's nice to know it's there and that I can use it if I need to.
lolYeah and you would find it if you actively went looking for it, but since I had no real need for it and I was simply curious about the NIC settings that I lacked, I never went looking for it.
On the other hand, if I needed WOL, I would have actively sought answers and no doubt I would have discovered it then ... lol
And since I enabled it in BIOS, I now have the Wake on Magic Packet or Wake on pattern options in my NIC Advanced settings, go figure ... lol
