I'm using Windows 11 Pro; laptop. I am wondering if it is possible to play music to two Bluetooth connected devices (speakers) at the same time; obviously from the same source (my laptop). With my setup and my knowledge I can play music to either device (speaker) one at a time but not both as the same time.

I've asked Copilot if it was possible and got an affirmative answer with instructions I'm not able to follow...I've found Copilot not always correct.

I would appreciate your thoughts and possibly instructions.

I do not know of any way to hook up multiple speakers to one bluetooth stream (that is not to say it cannot be done)

There is a low cost way sure to work:

Get an audio out 3.5mm cable splitter, and connect an external bluetooth transmitter with 3.5 mm jacks to each leg of the Y. .

Then pair each transmitter to whichever bluetooth speakers.

Total cost < £20

Another great wifi solution is to get chromecast audio dongles - one for each speaker, then plus speaker into the chromecast audio (assuming you have 3.5mm cable for each speaker).

This is more expensive though (£60 plus) but you can probably pick up the chromecast audio devices cheaply on ebay.

The Bluetooth speakers need to be compatible for multiple speakers, some are, some are not.
You're device needs to be running Bluetooth 5.1 or higher also for this to work.

The only way you can sync two speakers to one bluetooth connection is if the speaker has what is known as True Wireless Sound or TWS. If you find those sets of letters or those words this means you can pair the main speaker to another speaker & that main speaker to your bluetooth connection to your laptop, cell phone, desktop, tablet, bluetooth dongle, etc., using only a single bluetooth connection. However, as far as I know, this can only happen when both speakers are from the same manufacturer & are the same model of speaker.

For example, to achieve TWS you could purchase two of the Alpatronix IPX6 Waterproof Stereo Bluetooth Speaker from Amazon & have a decent sound system.

You do not need your bluetooth version to 5.1, either. I use bluetooth v4.x & the Alpatronix works & pairs just fine. Although I am using the speakers to make the second (speaker-to-speaker) bluetooth connection & nothing else. As @Dannydet suggests.

Cheers!
