I'm guessing that a Bottle shop is the same thing we call a package store. At the time the package stores had to close at 10 PM and the bars stayed open til 2 AM. My state also use to have what called Blue Laws. One of them was that on Sundays all take out had to be draft beer in waxed cardboard containers only.

That’s right, it was the same here. You’d be nursing a box of 12 bottles of beer until closing time. There were as many boxes of beer as there were patrons lol. Some boxes made it to the taxi’s, some were splattered on the ground in broken glass and frothy spillage. The occasional patron lying next to it.

The years pass by. The first photo is my RCMP graduation photo in 1973. I was the grand old age of 22 years old.

This is a photo of me with my first Sheltie, Morag, taken in 2009, the year after I retired from the RCMP with 35 years of service to Port Hood, Nova Scotia. This photo of her and me is my avatar photo in most of the Forums I frequent often. She was a wonderful companion and such a great dog.

Last is a photo of yours truly and his second Sheltie, Moira, taken last year (2022) in Port Hastings, Nova Scotia. Suffice it to say, I have not aged like a fine wine. I wanted to age like a fine single malt!

My brother-in-law, Shawn, is RCMP, awarded by the Queen of England (I forget why) He is such a good man, I have much respect for him… and all officers of the law. My anarchist days died in the late 80’s

I have RCMP in the family way also. I am especially appreciative of those RCMP who respected my right not to vaccinate. The RCMP are among the most level-headed and just police forces in existence. Logic and Reason tend not to escape them and I'm pulling from first hand experience. Makes me proud to be a Canadian.

I got nailed by a RCMP officer up near Kamloops BC in 2000 for doing 130 in a Ford Windstar, he was a nice bloke to talk & joke with, we had a bit of a banter going on while he checked my license out.
He ended up letting me go with a "Bluey".
