Hey, everyone!
It seems most people online are eager to get rid of everything Bing related, but I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum.
I've seen dozens of posts explaining how to turn off Bing search but virtually none showing how to enable it.
When I performed a clean install of Windows 11 a few weeks ago, I noticed that I couldn't utilize the Bing search function until I installed ''Web Search from Microsoft Bing'' through the MS Store.
I did so and in Privacy & Security -> Search permissions I togged on ''Let search apps show results'' and ''Web Search from Microsoft Bing'' and everything was working as intended.
However, after the last cumulative updates it stopped working. I could no longer type something in the search bar and see results from Bing and/or those interactive messages celebrating specific days etc.
I feel like I must add that Bing isn't my default search engine nor Edge was my browser but it worked regardless. I asked a friend to let me take a look at his PC and his search engine is also Google and his browser Chrome but the Bing integration was working seamlessly and he said he installed the February updates as well.
It's odd that it stopped working on my machine all of a sudden.
I noticed that in my Installed apps menu I no longer had ''Web Search from Microsoft Bing'' only ''Microsoft Bing''. I then uninstalled it and reinstalled ''Web Search from Microsoft Bing'' and toggled everything on but to no avail.
Does anyone know of an easy way to fix it that doesn't involve tinkering with the registry? (I've had bad experiences doing that and I recently formatted the machine lol)
Is it a known issue?
I'd really like to hear from you.
Thanks.
