If I want to construct a RAID-5, I am wondering, whether I should use 3 × 6 TB, 4 × 4 TB or 5 × 3 TB? Each configuration would have 12 TB of redundant storage. From an efficiency standpoint, which should I choose? Obviously, if one of the drives in the first configuration goes bad outside of the warranty period, its replacement cost is going to be higher. What are other considerations?
