Yup. Try it out. My opinion to not trust VPNs is my opinion and entitled to it. It might not be the OP's. That is up to him.

Dont use one other than to access the odd thing my isp doesn't want me to for some reason but otherwise meh. If you have a reason to then fair enough...if you don't then i wouldnt bother.

Well I decided to stick with cloudfare warp. It meets my needs.

I always thought it was kind of interesting that people are so worried about data security that they will send all their internet traffic through some third-party company that they don't really know all that much about.

I think main reason is not so much data security but hiding your browsing habits from "regulators". I guess it is borderline infringing forum rules to go into details why one might want that.

Even the incognito tabs in normal windows do not truly hide your browsing habits from "regulators" - just from others with access to pc.

There is a strong subjective component to the perceived need for a VPN. For example, readers/posters of/on a computer security forum are more likely to use a VPN than readers/posters of/on a general computer forum like 11f.

For the average home user with sensitive data I would probably suggest it and even then. At times you lose network connectivity or putting you printer Off Line. Disconnecting can become an aggravating.
