I am trying to find a way to remove Device Manager from the right click start menu list. We disable the Device Manager on our desktops but that link is still there. Any quick way to remove it?

I changed the Target Line for both to the same target as File Explorer (from the group 2 folder) and renamed both as "test", then restarted Explorer and it is gone from the list. simply deleting it did not remove it from the list for me but you can try that too...

Thanks @Rollback_Jockey , but that is for the Computer Management. I will continue to look in that direction though.

Thanks @dacrone , I will play around with those as well and see what works more efficiently.

Appreciate it guys

I don't know why anyone would want to remove Device Manager from the startup list considering that you can't even get to it with a single click anymore on This PC. Instead you have to dig deeper, which is really annoying if you're accustomed to accessing it from the PC icon. So much for progress.

I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.

Adding or deleting shortcuts from the WinX folder doesn't seem to work anymore as it did in the past. It no longer works for me on 24H2 with the latest updates.

Yup me too. Additional clicks to get there but . . . This is *cough* another one of those Windows 11 "improvements".

Since our users are locked down to non-admin, there is no sense in having it there as it doesn't work anyway.

Yup, I just deleted in both folders and restarted and it is gone from the start menu, thank you.

Thank you for clarifying that. I suppose it would be one of those things that would ignite my OCD if I couldn't access the device manager so just leaving it alone might not be the best thing after all. I'd probably leave the access to it via "This PC" alone since you have to dig three deep to reach the device manager from there anyway.
