System Remove Display Color Profile in Windows 11

This tutorial will show you how to remove a color profile for a display for your account or all users in Windows 11.

Calibrating a display will create a new color profile for the display where the calibration tool is located.

You can remove color profiles you no longer want for a display.

Option One

Remove Display Color Profile Current User in Settings


1 Open Settings (Win+I).

2 Click/tap on System on the left side, and click/tap on Display on the right side. (see screenshot below)

3 Click/tap on Color profile. (see screenshot below)

4 If you have multiple displays connected to your PC, select the display you want to remove a color profile for in the drop menu at the top. (see screenshot below step 5)

5 Click/tap on a color profile you want to remove to expand it open, and click/tap on Remove. (see screenshot below)

6 When finished, you can close Settings if you like.




Option Two

Remove Display Color Profile Current User in Color Management


1 Open the Control Panel (icons view), and click/tap on the Color Management (colorcpl.exe) icon.

2 Click/tap on the Devices tab in Color Management. (see screenshots below)

3 If you have multiple displays connected to your PC, select the display you want to change the color profile for in the Device drop menu at the top.

4 Check Use my settings for this device.

5 Under Profiles associated with this device select a color profile you want to remove for this display.

6 Click/tap on the Remove button.

7 If prompted, click/tap on Continue to confirm.

8 Click/tap on Close when finished.

Option Three

Remove Display Color Profile for All Users in Color Management


You must be signed in as an administrator to use this option.


This option will permanently delete any removed color profiles from the computer.


1 Open the Control Panel (icons view), and click/tap on the Color Management (colorcpl.exe) icon.

2 Click/tap on the All Profiles tab in Color Management. (see screenshots below)

3 Under The following profiles are installed on your system select a color profile you want to remove for all displays.

4 Click/tap on the Remove button.

5 Click/tap on Continue to confirm.

6 Click/tap on Close when finished.

Option Four

Remove Display Color Profile for All Users in File Explorer


You must be signed in as an administrator to use this option.


This option will permanently delete any removed color profiles from the computer.


1 Open File Explorer (Win+E).

2 Navigate to the folder below in File Explorer. (see screenshots below)

C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color

3 Select one or more color profile(s) you want to remove for all displays.

4 Delete the selected color profile(s).

5 Click/tap on Continue to confirm.

6 Close File Explorer when finished.
