Screen Resolution Problems

My new Dell Inspiron 16-5640 screen resolution is set to 1920x1200 and I have tweaked some of the text/font sizes so I can read most stuff. But, some programs have menu boxes that I cannot figure out how to increase the text sizes. It should be simple as in programming some menus in Visual Basic, but some programs hide methods or I am going dumb with age. I use the properties' function when available, but some do not follow my wishes. I have increased the Windows text sizes to where I can read most stuff, but some menus the fonts are so small I heed a magnifier.

Using Brave for example...

Goto the program properties, click on Compatibility Tab, then Change high DPI settings under the Setting section and a High DPI settings will open up. Play with both the Program DPI and High DPI scaling override.

The text size for the control panel for Winaero Tweaker is so small I have to use a magnifier to read it. Some programs display decent text and fonts; many are so small I just cannot read them.

I'm getting fonts and text sizes down to a science. My problem is having to use a magnifying glass to see the menus just to setup the fonts. I try to use text size around 12 or 14, but some menus or control panels are hard to find the font/text controls for the programs. I think in the past font control was easier to understand. Since I don't swell in such things often it is easy to get of track.

Choosing a bigger font can cause undesired side effects with certain apps like text content being cut off in certain places and/or some of UI elements being severely misaligned. The app in question may become unusable as a result, effectively forcing you to choose a font that is too small to be able to read it comfortably. So, in those specific situations where nothing else helps, what I like to do is just temporarily change the Scale for the monitor that I use to display the troublesome app. As you probably know, Scale can be found by going to Windows Settings | System | Display, then (if more than one monitor is present) choosing the correct monitor. But there also exists a faster, less tedious method to change the Scale:
Additionally, you could decide to create a simple desktop shortcut for those specific SetDPI.exe commands that you frequently use, and, you can also set a keyboard shortcut in the Properties panel of each one of these desktop shortcuts if that's what you prefer. Granted, changing the Scale causes the entire screen content to be resized so, it certainly isn't always ideal either. Only sometimes, I find that this is the only real acceptable way to make an unusable app usable.
