This tutorial will show you how to share a file with an app in Windows 11.

Windows Share in Windows 11 allows you to share file(s) with an app to send from.

Starting with Windows 11 build 22631.3810, Microsoft is rolling out the ability to copy files from the Windows share window. Just click the new copy button.

Starting with Windows 11 build 22631.4974 (23H2), build 26100.3323 (24H2), and build 27802.1000 (Canary), you can now share files directly from a jump list on the taskbar. Jump lists appear when you right-click an app that has a jump list.

In Windows 11 build 22631.4830 (23H2) you can now share directly to apps that support sharing in Windows. Just right-click local files in File Explorer or on the desktop.

In Windows 11 build 22635.4950 (Beta 23H2), Sharing files in Windows is getting a lot easier and quicker with our new drag tray feature. When you start dragging a local file with mouse (or touch) from File Explorer or your desktop, a handy tray appears at the very top of your screen allowing you to drop the file into one of the displayed apps or choose “More…” to open the Windows share window.

Starting with Windows 11 build 26120.3360 (Beta/Dev 24H2), Microsoft is adding the ability to share directly to apps that support sharing in Windows when right-clicking on local files in File Explorer or the desktop.

Many apps will have a Share option available that allows you to directly share the file opened in the app.

It's a shame how useless this option is in windows in 2022!!! On an adnroid device when I choose to share for example an image I get the option to share it via Gmail, whatsapp, telegram, instagram, kindle, messaging (sms), skype, bluetooth, twitter, etc .....
In windows I can share it with the sniping tool!!, with built-in mail app and with feedback hub! yoopi !! It would be cool if I could share with whatsapp for example that I use!
