Of course it can uninstall itself. It just calls the uninstall utility and terminates. It saves you opening Settings, then Apps, then Installed Apps and wait several seconds for the long list to populate (an average home computer has tens of applications unlike a typical office computer), then scrolling at the bottom to locate Revo. Yes, there is a search box, but it is useless until the list is populated. You cannot type in it while the list is still blank.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.

If you try the Revo Uninstaller to uninstall itself, it launches the Revo uninstaller and asks you to shut down Revo. Loads is left behind. But running Revo portable from a USB stick works well.

I think the reason children ate often perceived as being good with computers is more fundamental.

Children do not have such a fear of failure so are willing to try things that many adults shy away from.

A child will mess around for hours, but adults expect things just to work as planned and give up too easily.

Of course, the child also has to be naturally inquisitive (like your daughter of course).

I laugh when oeople say to me "It's alright, you know how to use a computer but I don't". How do these people think I learnt - by osmosis? LOL

Movies make out nerds are objects of ridicule but hey look at some of the richest guys in the world - Bill, Elon etc.

Kids just have a lot more free time than we do, so they can try many things and learn more. An adult and a kid starting using the computer at the same time, the kid will eventually surpass the adult because he simply doesn't have free time to practice. But an adult that deals with computers over 10 years, obviously has more experience than a kid that deals with them a couple of years, provided of course that he learns new stuff, he is not just typing data like a secretary.
