Snagit lets you quickly capture your screen and camera, add additional context, and share images, GIFs, or videos across your preferred platforms.

• Added the Panopto sharing destination
• Fixed crashes that could occur when capturing specific websites or applications
• The Save As dialog will now correctly respect the Save As filetype preferences for files in the Library
• Added a fallback mechanism to accurately show the files in the Library when Windows Indexing isn’t giving correct information to Snagit
• The Copy All button should now work better with other applications when pasting images with transparency
• The Save As dialog will now correctly pre-populate the document title in the file name field
• Fixed an issue where after saving a video with Save As, the name was unexpectedly the same as the original
• Fixed an issue where there was a multi-second lag when capturing a PowerBI window
• The date shown in the Library Details will now accurately reflect the original capture time, not the file creation date
• Fixed an issue where a video could get deleted if a user has auto-save turned off for videos in certain situations
• Multi-page captures and files are more stable
• Thumbnails for saved GIF and MP4 files should now appear correctly
• The time shown in the Capture Info effect should be accurate again
• Fixed an issue with logging into SharePoint
• Fixed an issue with Template footers where they could get detached
• Fixed a crash with applying several Effects to images made from Templates
• Fixed an issue with Template sections overlapping
• Snagx files from Snagit Mac that were created with Templates should behave normally
• Snagit Theme files coming from Snagit Mac will now load properly again
• The enhanced tooltip for the More button should now close after clicking on the More button
• Can now open multiple snagx files from Windows Explorer
• Can now hide the software key when deploying Snagit Windows to multiple computers
• The snagx file type is now supported by COM capturing
• Other bug fixes and performance improvements

  • Identifies and automatically redacts credit card numbers, addresses, phone numbers, and more.
  • To get started, in the Snagit Editor select Blur Tool > Smart Redact.
🚫🗣️ Remove Background Noise
  • No need for a recording booth!
  • Automatically removes fan noise, nearby conversations, dog barks, and more from your video recordings.
Customizable Share Link
  • Admins can now customize Share Link to send to OneDrive, Google Drive, or Screencast.
  • End users get a shareable link with just one click.
Subscription Software
  • Snagit 2025 is now available for individuals and businesses by annual subscription.

Feature Updates​

  • Updated share completion notifications to use Windows Notifications.
  • Updated templates to allow users to draw Shape tool objects over a drop zone.
  • Added buttons to template drop zones to easily zoom in or out by 20%.
  • Added an icon to easily delete a section from a template.
  • Replaced graphic thumbnails with text labels when adding a new section to a template.
  • Removed Knowmia as a share destination as the service has been retired.

  • Updated System.Text.Encodings.Web package to address CVE-2021-26701.

  • Removed dependency on Microsoft.Rest.ClientRuntime package which is now deprecated.

Bug Fixes​

  • Fixed an issue where the resolution of image captures might not be correct.
  • Fixed an issue where image captures sometimes did not include the cursor as expected.
  • Fixed an issue where the icon to add a section to a template might overlap the handle to resize the canvas.
  • Fixed an issue in the Capture Window where Region selection options might appear incorrectly for other selection types.
  • Fixed a crash that could occur when zooming in on large images in Editor.

So far, got a freeze on first image grab. It might just be a hiccup. Like the updates.

@ Edwin I continued my maintenance agreement which is about $20 a year but the biggest difference is Snagit 2025 is no a longer perpetual licence and ends when your maintenance agreement ends and a Snagit 2025 personal licence is also no longer transferable to another PC but the Business Licence is (Which I have).

I have my Snagit 2024 Installer and keys saved and can also retrieve from my Techsmith Account which is still a perpetual licence and can revert to if I end maintenance.

I'm still using an old version, I'm not a fan of shelling out every year for every piece of software I have. I don't mind paying for good software, but I don't want to keep paying year after year! Same reason I'm running older versions of Microsoft Office, I own it and it doesn't expire!

  • Snagit now informs users if their license is disabled.

Performance Improvements​

  • Fixed multiple issues where the Capture Widget would not appear or capture as expected.

Bug Fixes​

  • Fixed an issue where using the Blur tool from Favorites blocked the use of other favorite tools.
  • Fixed an issue where Snagit might not recognize offline subscription activation.
  • Fixed an issue where Smart Redact did not always apply the correct intensity level for the Pixelate or Blur types on subsequent runs.
  • Fixed an issue where flashes might appear in recordings made with Video from Images.
  • Fixed an issue to correctly apply background color from the Video from Images recording toolbar.
  • Fixed an issue where the canvas was not shown correctly when cropping an image with corner rounding applied.
  • Fixed an issue where the text editing cursor might persist when using the Text and Callout objects.
  • Fixed an issue where the focus indicator around the hotkey in the Capture Window might be clipped for some screen resolutions.
