Snipping Tool - Keeping Open ?

After I do a snip, the tool automatically closes, requiring me to reopen it to do another snip. Is there any way to have it not close automatically? Or is there a better snipping tool that the one that comes with Windows 11? Thanks for any assistance.

I take it - you took a screenshot by pressing PrintSc - then yes, it closes after you take the screenshot. If you want to keep it open - use windows search and look for "Snipping Tool" - once you start the app itself - il will remain open. You could also make a shortcut - so you don't have to search for it every-time you want to use it.

After you make your first snip you should see a notification like this one:



Click on the notification and the Snipping Tool will open, showing your current snip. It will stay open, allowing you to make as many new snips as you like.

I'm using a AutoHotKey script to run the snip: Run "ms-screenclip:?source=QuickActions" . There are no settings options shown.

After I outline the area to snip and release the left mouse button the small toolbar with the four buttons disappears; no notifications. The AHK script works fine, but is there perhaps a different command that might work better?

I use WinKey+Shift+S to run it, but that should make no difference. For notifications, make sure they're turned on in Settings > System > Notifications.
