Solved Snipping tool seems broken any alternatives

Time change works because the certificate expired on it. MS need to up their game when they can't even spot their own security certificates expiring.

@veldthui That makes sense, I heard a few apps were affected by that so I presume that the time change fix could be done with any others. or use the fix Brink suggested

I have the same problem after I installed Windows 11 as an upgrade from Windows 10. Weirdly at first what I was seeing as Snipping Tool was the old program interface that said a new Snipping Tool would be available in the near future. However, the Windows logo key + Shift + S combination did not work with it although it used to work with Windows 10. After the upgrade I finished installing a couple of Windows 11 updates. Then (after a couple of necessary restarts) the new Snipping Tool interface appeared in place of the old one, but again the Windows logo key + Shift + S doesn't work with it. I get the same message as has been posted here.

I considered installing Screenshot Captor from For Software Connoisseurs - Homepage - DonationCoder.com, but in the end I decided to leave things as they are and I'll be using the screenshot feature of FastStone Viewer which I already have installed. I rarely use screenshot captures and I didn't feel it necessary to have a special program for them.

EDIT: I finally installed Screenshot Captor, not really because I needed all its features, but hey... I was tempted.

I emailed the developer and they gave a free lifetime license.

I haven't yet done so. I used to use another one of his programs called FARR (Find And Run Robot) for which I got a lifetime license, but that was years ago. That program is worth looking at and may be useful depending on how you usually access your programs. It's more efficient than the Start menu.

maybe this is my issue?..IDK. I do use Wineaero Tweaker also. Ill check it out . Thanks for the tip. I have however started using Snagit and for the amount of features it contains and its ease of use I will just use Snagit from now on so now I dont have to keep wasting time on this issue. At some point Microsoft will fix it and then I may go back to their snipping tool. Until then....Peace

I have the latest updates for Public Release version I have. like a previous answer from The Hive it may be my Winaero Tweaker interferring..I shall see and let you all know.
