The lockscreen will appear from either cold start or reboot, don't quite understand your question

The pic/ secene earlier appeared only on a reboot, before lock screen.
Now it's showing on the laptop screen too once the display turns dark and is turned on...
My question is only about the secene pic...
Windows spotlight in settings was off, only picture but it still would show on a reboot, but never on laptop screen even if turned dark 🌑 and then on....

Hope that helps understand what Im implying to convey.

Yes the files are named like that.
The picture will show on the lock screen after startup, restart & locking the PC.

Not really, sequence the start up, ie:

1. Press start
2. Boot screen (spinning dots) appears....... and so on

I have been using this script since the Windows 10 beta days, it even adds the .jpg extension to them..
Easily Copy All Windows 10 Lock Screen Images
You can use simple script - Just download the following script , extract it, right click on it and choose unblock , finally run it - it will create a folder on your desktop and automatically copy all the lock screen images in it

NOTE: images changes every day , if you want to archive them Please use the script every day

Hi @Brink , sorry to have addressed you directly. One last attempt, would explain as explicitly as possible.

My laptop is working fine with none issues.

1. It all started when I liked a windows spotlight pic on startup. After which it stopped appearing on a reboot, just the lock screen started showing on a reboot. In settings >Personalization, Background was set as Photo don't recall about lock screen.

2. I ran your recommended bat file after which it started to appear again, but now both on reboot and when the display turns dark and is turned on...unlike previously.

3. If I turn off Windows spot light in settings > lock screen it disappears and reappears when spotlight is turned on.

4. I liked the pic appearing on startup only, not in windows like earlier.

What am I doing incorrect.
Anything to do with the updates?
Any fix?
Would restoring a full backup help?
Format and a clean reinstall would take a lot of my time.
Lastly since the laptop, is very important for my professional usage, should I simply forget the pic and set lock screen to photo vs. spotlight.

One last attempt posting on this thread.

1. If the issue was present before you backed up then then no it wouldn't help, it it wasn't then yeah, a restore is fine. You don't need to format and clean install, just run an in place repair from a Windows 11 ISO

Thanks for the expert recommendation. I have multiple don't exactly know after which it started.....maybe restoring the 2nd last full backup would rectify, but would lose changes to my Word documents.

If you restore from a back up your machine will be at the state it was when the back up was made. A repair would not touch your files

As mentioned, a back up restore would take your files back to the state they were when the back up was made.
