My local Libraries in Gloucestershire still use Windows 7. Their service is offline quite a lot. Even when they are online, IE does not display the webpages correctly, and the browser hangs often. They have not moved onto Edge browser yet.

I would stay with Windows 10 for a short time - a Month or two and check the reports of any issues, then if it looks good, (and Windows 11 gives you advances in other ways), image your Windows 10, update to windows 11 and you will have 10 days to try it with your needs, the image is a backup against missing the rollback date

Whilst I agree, I still believe a 10 years EOL cutoff is too short. It could have done with a couple more years on it, to keep customers happy :)

Bingo I'd add no issues at all plus the world has not ended as so many have said it would by not getting security updates
No more updating is just a long awaited vacation after culling through updates so long.

Windows 7 business users had the option to subscribe for three years of Extended Security Updates, renewable annually. ESU support for W7 ends January 2023.

It seems plausible that Windows 10 would get a similar ESU support program after 2025.

    fully 'Windows 11 ready' laptop. Windows 10 C: partition migrated from my old unsupported 'main machine' then upgraded to 11. A test migration ran Insider builds for 2 months. When 11 was released on 5th October 2021 it was re-imaged back to 10 and was offered the upgrade in Windows Update on 20th October. Windows Update offered the 22H2 Feature Update on 20th September 2022. It got the 23H2 Feature Update on 4th November 2023 through Windows Update, and 24H2 on 3rd October 2024 through Windows Update by setting the Target Release Version for 24H2.
