Like it tells me the settings app is no longer available it's very strange

Yes remove StartAllBack
How will you do that? Perhaps there is an uninstall exe in the install folder.

You may not be able to load the Settings app, but you may be able to access directly a specific settings page, such as Windows Update page. Search for Control Panel and click to open it. Change view from group to large icons from top right and then open Windows Update. This should get you to the Window Update page of Settings.

An alternative method is to right-click on the desktop and select Personalize to get the Personalization page. From there click on the Windows Update from the list on the left. You can also click on the Apps to go and uninstall StartIsBack or do it from Control Panel, Programs and Features section.

Okay so I uninstalled StartIsBack but have now encountered a new issue since uninstallation of that program. When I click on the Windows button I get a critical error. I am guessing if I find a way to resolve this then the updates shouldn't (fingers crossed) break my settings and taskbar. Any idea how to resolve this new error?

Also the search bar on the taskbar does not function either since the uninstallation of StartIsBack.

See attached screenshot. Thanks!

Search for cmd and right-click to Run as Administrator to open a Command Prompt as Administrator. Then execute

sfc /scannow

to scan system files and repair them. Then you can also execute
Dism.exe/online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

Dism/Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

to fix more errors.

Okay so after I deleted the StartIsBack program I had such a problem with the start menu... I ended up running a command I found after digging only
Code:
Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}
I also at the same time instance ran windows update. Whatever it was that fixed it I'm not sure but my start menu is accessible now and the taskbar and settings work even after updates! I appreciate all the help. Wish me luck with the 24h2 update now. Apparently it was just 23h2 security updates and feature updates this whole time not 24h2. Time to see what this update brings.

Good job. Sorry, forgot to mention to try that re the taskbar at least. I was more concerned with updates. I got that command to try repair the taskbar from the Minitools site once.

Well done fixing your PC on your own 🙏
