Solved Taskbar Shortcut Properties

Okay, let's try again. I have a taskbar icon for 11 Forum. I made it as a desktop shortcut that says, "C:\Windows\explorer.exe Windows 11 Forum" . It got a Google Chrome icon when I created the shortcut. I edited the poperties of the URL shortcut to change the icon to the one I got from John (the Boss) at this site. Then I pinned it to the taskbar and deleted it from the desktop.
The site software changed the "https://" and "www." and "elevenforum." and "com" to "Windows 11 Forum". Type the shortcut by adding all of those together after C:\Windows\explorer.exe.

The usual way. Copied the url for 11 Forum from my browser: "https:// plus www. plus elevenforum. plus com" (The forum software converted my URL in my post above). Created shortcut by starting with C:\Windows\explorer.exe. Then pasted the URL after a space. Then changed the icon from GChrome to W11F. Then pinned. Then deleted.

OK, so I have created the same shortcut on the desktop and called it Test. It allocated a folder icon. Yes, I can now get to it's properties to change the icon, but there is no Pin to Taskbar option, only Pin to Start, as you can see here:

You're instructions work fine... you cheated though.
The Desktop shortcut you made was NOT a direct URL shortcut. It was a quasi-File Explorer shortcut.
A direct URL shortcut on the Desktop... looks like this...

I DID NOT cheat! I followed @Brink's instructions for making a desktop shortcut to a URL, but with the desired context menu options. Blaaah!

I DID NOT cheat! I followed @Brink's instructions for making a desktop shortcut to a URL, but with the desired context menu options. Blaaah!
I don't care who thought it up... it's lame.
All you have to do to make a URL shortcut on the Desktop is "drag" the Lock symbol in the browser address bar, to the Desktop.
But then, it seems you get the no frills version. LOL

I don't see the fuss. Copy URL. Make shortcut. Precede URL in shortcut target with explorer.exe. Change icon (cuz you'll get the icon of explorer). Pin. Delete.

The Fuss...
Option 1: Drag the lock symbol from browser address bar to the desktop to make the URL shortcut. Time: 1 second.
Option 2: Do all that junk you said. Time: 3 weeks, 6 days and 4 cups of coffee.
The Payoff...
Option 2 gives you all the right click bells and whistles. Option 1... doesn't.
As I said above... typical Microsoft. Take something simple and intuitive and screw it up.

(We have a grocery store in Ontario called "No Frills." It's a discount version of our mainline grocer, Loblaws. I prefer shopping at Loblaws, even though the prices are higher for almost everything. Clean, great washrooms, great variety, nice people -- shoppers AND staff -- and they bag the groceries for you. NF makes you bag your own.)
