@Winuser I posted a link for reference when answering the original question in this thread. If you take that as telling end users to create custom handlers for Disk Cleanup, that’s on you.

Scripts for auto-cleaning Temp files at boot - are available since the first Windows - where this feature became available (can't remember which). Then, Microsoft came up with Storage Sense - as a way of saying "We Know (get it)". And then there's Temp Cleaner v1.3 for people like me (who get some satisfaction from pressing a virtual button - followed by a notification of Temp folders being cleaned).

If that's not enough for you, just make a shortcut to the following destinations:

C:\Windows\Temp
C:\ProgramData\TEMP
C:\Users\acc-name\AppData\Local\Temp

...and delete everything manually (as much as it's possible - cause Temp is also an Active Cache folder for apps storing their settings/activity actively there).

You posted a link on how to do something and you really believe that's not in a round about way of telling people to do it? You may not have said to do it but there are people that will take it as being told to do it. I'm done going back and forth with you on this so I won't be replying back any more.

I've dealt with hundreds of users that barely knew how to turn their computer ON.

The above from post 54 paints the average user to barely know enough to turn on their PC. That sort of condescending attitude is not what a a New Member coming to This forum for help would want to see. That is why.

you should reread that line. It says that he has dealt with users that barley knew how to turn on their computer and not that the average user barley knows how to turn on their computers.

The fact remains, temp files of many types and names will continue to build up in the HD will the user decides to do something about it.

I've tried Many so called Cleanup programs, till I finally realized than none of them actually do the job they claim. That's when I set about finding out the Exact location where browsers, etc. store their temp files. I was amazed at just how many locations there are in Windows (any version) where junk files are stored.
So I wrote my Cleanup.bat (batch file program) to go to each of those locations and delete the junk it finds there.
Developing this program took months of my spare time, but finally in Jan '23 it was complete enough to share it with other PC users.
Today, it's being used (I hope) in many of the United States and five foreign countries.

I wish I could sit down with the OP, and show him just how the program works. But alas, I can't travel, and the only way I have to share my program is via file transfer, email, etc.

I've programmed my Batch file to remove the Temporary Internet Files for, Edge, Firefox and Chrome. So if someone wanted to use my program but uses some other Browser, some customization would be in order, which I'd be glad to help with.

Before I'm done with this thread I want to say that you should actually read what was posted and not just quote it. It's only semantics because you don't want to understand what the post actually meant. You only want it to mean what you think. With that said I'm now totally done with this thread.
