Yes so might be worth enabling it. It has to be a GPU driver issue I think.

So, how do I go about it? I've already run my AMD adrenaline update and it shows the drivers are up-to-date. The Windows "update driver" option also returned, "you have the most up o date drivers" message.

Unlike the other command, this one executed without errors. But I still don't have the sleep enabled, after restart.

Thanks for the suggestion.

Your AMD dedicated driver icon is showing a different badge? Check the driver's properties.

Yes, I was unable to do anything earlier in the day. But now We are getting somewhere with this.

However, as mentioned in my previous reply, I have updated to the latest driver version through adrenaline.

If you want to solve your issue, I highly suggest you do more than "skim" the post. There is a cause and fix in there which I'm sure may apply to you. Good luck.

Here.... Sleep Option has Disappeared from Everywhere

Hi, sure I will go through it but like I said, I haven't done it. I have been running with sleep option present, from day one. This issue has literally sprung upon me.

FWIW I don't have the sleep option as I've Disabled Modern Standby.

Thanks for this. This line of diagnosis yielded the following result. Seems something has disabled the modern standby. It's 100% not me in this case. What's even going on with windows 11 at this point. No one knows what the OS is doing, incl the OS.
I see you finally came around to checking if Modern Standby was disabled after ignoring earlier suggestions to do so.

Anyway, I've had a few updates on my laptop, but Modern Standby was never affected on my machine.

Yes indeed. Humble pie :(

I was so confident that wouldn't be the case as I hadn't touched it, but well, since I was running out of options I checked it and found I have had it disabled.

But the infuriating part is, it's a graphics driver issue and I am still unable to resolve at this point. :(

See if you can roll back the driver. Device manager and right click the card, properties, driver tab and see if 'roll back driver' is available.

I always buy AMD APU laptops but with Nvidia Dedicated GPUs then both drivers are clearly different. The second monitor I have is powered by the dedicated GPU only. If I disable the Nvidia then the second monitor looses the image. I'm really not sure with both onboard and dedicated being AMD that both AMD GPUs will need different drivers. Hopefully someone with same setup can chime in. In the meantime there's an auto detect and install link HERE for RX6650.

You can also check Dell's site for the drivers shown for your model in case the GPU's require a bespoke driver.

Thanks for that link. I was on the page but got sucked away into doing something else. Let me try to revert my drivers.

Also, I have multiple machines, not just the Dell laptop. The current issue is with my assembled gaming rig. Maybe I ought to update the machine config in my profile as well.

Unnecessary.

But comments aside, I am curious as to why you have 2 display adapters showing if only one gpu… do you have a dock or usb powered gpu or anything similar plugged in?

TBH, I've always wondered as well. It's just a dual monitor setup, with a HDMI to DVI adapter for main and HDMI to HDMI for the second.

All right everyone. Driver rollback did the trick and restored the sleep option, even before system restart (wow, windows!).
1721841150130.png
To be safe, I'll restart the PC and get back if something is still wrong. I appreciate everyone's patience and support to walk me through all possible options to return this to a working and satisfactory state.

I have sent a bug report to AMD via their AMD report tool and mentioned my disabled windows sleep issue. As per fabler's advice, updated this post to show the version of driver installed that resolved the issue (reverted one version).
