I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the MS security side of VS these days. I have to give Win 11 some credit in this however: Replacing their scanner with Kaspersky has never been easier and Windows Security always notifies me the moment I have a Kaspersky update.

    I own too many laptops: A Dell touch screen with Windows 11 and 6 others (not counting the other four laptops I bought for this household.) Being a PC builder I own many desktop PCs as well. I am a father of five providing PCs, laptops, and tablets for all my family, most of which I have modified, rebuilt, or simply built from scratch. I do not own a cell phone, never have, never will.
You might want to - WD puts a huge load on the system, especially at startup.

Could exclude some paths from scanning active scanning, and only do that in the weekly scheduled scan.

Yes, I could spend hours/days/weeks just to avoid doing a 5 min fix. Such are we humans!!! We are a funny lot!!!

Argue for your limits and they are yours! (somebody said that to me once though I can't remember who or in what context. ?)
