Hi,
I am running Windows 11 23H2 Build 22631.3593

My time zone is set to Dublin, Edinburgh, Lisbon, London which is correct
Region is United Kingdom
Set time automatically is set to - on
Set time automatically is set to - on
Show time & date in system tray is set to - on

I have synced the the time - Time server - time.windows.com

HOWEVER the time is an hour behind what it should be.

Any ideas on how to get this rectified?

Many thanks

Hello @Greshoff1 ,
You do not mention if you have set the daylight-saving time.

@Greshoff1

My settings mirror @OAT's, and I have never had a problem with time on any of my PCs. I think, in addition to setting the "Adjust for..." switch to ON, you need to have the Set time zone automatically switch OFF, and then specify the time zone in the next line in Settings.
Clipboard 05.jpg

Once you have these settings adjusted correctly, you may need to reset your clock (right-click the time display in the tray), but only ONCE.

Are you by chance using a VPN that may show in a different time zone? I don't but have seen a client have that issue.

Having worked with times a few decades this is what I'm comfortable with:

I think you have to switch OFF the automatic time zone thing first.

It may not show for those areas that don't observe it. A number of features in Windows are based upon area/language.

Notice in the panel

that Time zone and Adjust for daylight seem to be subcategories to Set time zone automatically. I think that if the Set switch is OFF, the subcats will appear after user closes and reopens that panel.

Here's mine... little trick I learned...

Set Time Zone first... THEN turn on the three items below the Time Zone.

I had to come back to this topic. I am seeing a similar issue with multiple Win11 systems now. I have several systems that suddenly popped up a Date & time settings dialog telling me Due to a location change a new time zone has been detected....... Shows I am in an Eastern Time zone even though I am Central. Time Zone is always set to Central Time and Set time zone automatically is also selected.

I just checked my Daily Driver which had the automatic time zone set to off. As soon as I selected it it wanted to change my time to Eastern even though my Time Zone is set to Central.

And I've run down my issue to my browser. I noticed this yesterday as I was ordering some chicken wings from Wingstop. For some reason it was not showing my local Wingstop like it always does, even while logged in to my acct. Again tonight I was doing a search for something and noticed my location seemed incorrect. Sure enough if I do a google search for Time Zone it pops up Eastern. Bring up Google Maps usually defaults to my location however now it points to Boydton, VA. Using Edge the my current location is correct.

Now I'm looking for a setting in Firefox to see what's going on.

I'm a computer enthusiast so have quite a few systems that I run. More like an advanced hobby.
turn off auto time zone, turn on auto daylight savings, set auto time to on. use this time server: time.nist.gov good luck
