Hi,
Finally figured out how to get a wide screen recorder profile so I don't have to record black areas of a movie... along with a full screen recording profile when movies are full screen using obs studio

I can stop using shareX since it has no Pause option it was pretty dependent on stream buffering quality, if bad you get to record all the loading delays which suxed now I can pause the recording while the movie... buffers if it does mess up which does happen :party:

So yeah obs studio rocks for recording movies/ tv series/...

Yes, @dwall said he likes Corel Paint Shop Pro, which was originally distributed by Jasc. I used it until it was sold to Corel.

Yep, I used Jasc Paint Shop Pro since version 1.02 back in 1992 and purchased upgrades up until version 8 as well.
Later on some magazines handed out the version 8 and 9 CD.

I pretty much changed over to PhotoShop many years ago but I did use PSP 8 on XP for quite a while.

I don't know if the program still runs on Windows 10 or 11 but the Internet Archive appears to have a copy.

I have seen that products from Auslogics, IOBit and some others almost always bundle Potentially Unwanted Programs (PUPs) with their software, some of which are even classified as Trojans in VirusTotal. This is also true for some of the products from CCleaner, Glary Utilities, Wise Cleaner, etc. So pay attention to the permissions granted if you must install such products. The flags on VirusTotal need not be false positives, i.e. the programs can indeed be malicious even if just one or two security engine flags them.

No, I meant version 9. I tried to install it on one of my systems and it would not complete the install. Not sure if there was something on my system blocking it or not or if they changed something in the installer.

PSP 9.01 installed for me. But it's a 60 day 'Try and Buy' free trial - and with JASC no longer around buying it may prove difficult.

In both cases, download the ISO image and save it to your desktop.
Then MOUNT the image.

Open the mounted Image and then open either the hidden (PSP9 > Paint Shop Pro 9 folder in the PSP 9.01 ISO) or the (PSP folder in the PSP 7.04), and right click the .msi installer (which will be at the bottom), and choose: Install. That's it, and it's legal... now.

Animation shop install "with" PSP 7.04 automatically.
For Animation Shop in PSP 9.01, you'll have to separately run the Jasc Animation Shop 3.msi installer in the PSP9 folder.

You installed it incorrectly. See above.

If you install from the normal setup.exe, you'll get the trial. You need to find the hidden .msi installer.

I just did it for both the PSP 7.04 Anniversary and the PSP 9.01

For PSP 9.01 ...each of these folders has it's own .msi installer that needs to be run separately.
Even the autorun.exe will not work. You'll still get the trial.
The 1st time you run PSP 9.01, you'll have to close out of a few boxes. They won't return.

This all assumes you use the links I provided in this post.
They are to the actual ISOs of the CDs. I also scanned them locally and at Virustotal. They are 100% clean.

And last but certainly not least, you can disable that UGLY splash screen at PSP startup...

Yes it does. I just did it.
To "try again" you need to remove everything from the last try, with REVO.
Please don't make me take a pile of screenshots to show you.

I didn't install the Photo Album 5.
I use XnView for those tasks.
And that folder doesn't have an .msi installer, so I don't know if that will work.

Side Note: PSP 9.01 is a lot more powerful, but it's also a lot more cumbersome.

This is a screen of PSP 9.01 running on Win 10, which I'm on atm...

The major improvements I saw were all the stuff on the right side. And on the left side the dodge, burn in, and color selection (magic wand), tools are new or just way better.
At first glance... the stuff on top is seriously cumbersome.

Remember: If you mess up the install, you need to completely remove the program, before you try again.
It leaves tracks all over the registry.
Just to be on the safe side... I also deleted the Jasc folders in AppData > Roaming and in Program Files (x86)

I did NOT try to install PSP 9.01 with PSP 7.04 installed.

OK... I lied.

1. First thing I did was completely UN-install PSP 7.04 with REVO (free)
2. Then removed the Jasc folders in Users > username > AppData > Roaming and ProgramFiles (x86)
3. Then I ran CCleaner > Registry
4. Then I installed PSP 9.01, just like post #94

During install, it asked if I wanted shortcut on Desktop... I said yes... it didn't make one.
I had to go into the install directory and make a shortcut from the executable to the Desktop.

Ok, that's everything.

Way, way back, I used to run PSP 4.xx
If you're completely new to PSP, you should probably try this one first. It's really easy to learn.
I believe that PSP 4.12 is easy to install as well. (Scans clean locally and at Virustotal)
Just MOUNT and go to X:\PSP4\INSTALL\setup.exe and double click setup.exe

Then when you get PSP 4 down pat... go to PSP 7.04
For me... PSP 7.04 is good enough.

No, I extracted the ISO and ran the .msi installer. It simply never completed. But that was a heavily locked down Windows 10 computer and I was only testing it out. I use PhotoShop now for a long time which is miles ahead of Paint Shop Pro
