Trying to Set Up a Raspberry Pi 5 as a NAS

I think this is the place to post my query, if nor can mods please move it...
As a project i am trying to set up a NAS with a raspberry pi 5 and a spare 4 TB m.2 i have.
Not wanting to have an SD card anywhere near this thing i have used pi imager to put raspios-bookworm-arm64-lite on the m.2.
The instructions tell me to add a line to the config file on the m.2 - i see there are various lines in there such as this one below:

# Automatically load overlays for detected cameras
camera_auto_detect=1

My question is - i take it that the # line is just a comment so when i add my line as per the instructiuos i just add the following somewhere in the file...
dtparam=pciex1

If not can i have some assistance please

# lines are comments/section headings

so yes you can just add that line, would look for the section it makes sense to have it in, in case you need it later

Yes Lite, is the one with no GUI, make sure you have setup SSH etc before hand, so you can "dial in"
Versioning looks correct and current. make sure you check for update when you start

sudo apt update

sudo apt full-upgrade

sudo reboot

in terminal

Starting with R-Pi a NAS is where to begin, learn the syntax how to SSH etc, figure out all the little things you can do, then you will be running Pi-Hole AdGuard, managing entire network traffic, even hosting your own DNS server. be warned :LOL:
