I was moving my Steam games install files to a bigger hard disk and ran into an issue. When I emptied the old drive to the new one, I tried reassigning the old drive (Drive F:) to a new letter, with the intent of changing the bigger drive to drive F: Disk Management went through the procedure, but after it gave me the warning about some software not working, etc. up popped a window saying "Bad parameter". I am thus unable to reassign the drive letter via Windows.
I know I can do it with Diskpart in a command window (maybe) but I am a little nervous about doing it that way. I reassigned my Steam games to Drive E: which is the bigger drive, so I guess the question is moot. A month ago I reassigned a drive letter under 23H2 with no issues, so I can't figure this out. Has anyone seen a bug report about reassigning drive letters? I am unable to find one.
