Unable to remove Open With... duplicate

As you can see Notepad++ shows a duplicate in context menu open with. The one without the icon when pressed doesn't actually do anything.

I have tried :

• Deleting the entire Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\FileExts\.reds , but the issue persists after reboot.
• Deleting the entire HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\.reds , but the issue persists after reboot.
• Used the OpenWithView.exe program, but in there it only shows one instance of Notepad++.exe (the correct one with the icon).

Can anyone point me to where in the registry I can remove this broken Notepad++ link?

Er, the two solutions you pasted are exactly the same that I said I've tried and didn't work...

Sordum (Link above) offers a range of free apps. They have some pretty impressive stuff on offer.

Easy Context Menu 1.6, from memory, has a context menu cleaner within.
I haven’t used it for a while so here is a quote from the page:

How to Clean the Right Click Menu

The context menu is often abused by software vendors who add useless entries without asking permission. You can use ECM’s new context menu cleaner feature to remove all unwanted entries.

Just select an unwanted entry and click the Delete button to remove it from your context menu. It’s that simple.
