Unhide button "add" search-engine in the about:preferences#search page Firefox

2010 to 2024: Windows 7, VBox with mulitple Debian/Arch/Win11 | Now: Win10 (by error)
Adding this line "browser.urlbar.update2.engineAliasRefresh" set "true"
in the about:config Firefox will show/unhide a hidden button at the bottom of the about : preferences#search window/tab.


I was trying to add a searchplugin.xml file the way I use to do in the old days (circa 2009 lol) to no avail.
After searching here and there, and did not want to install an addon helper for this (that works just so so. Been there done that, a couple yrs ago yeah), I found this about:config pref on stackexchange. Works like a charm.
