Updating from Win11 23H2 to 24H2 causes re-enabling of Remote Access.

On discovering this, I immediately disabled remote access. My default is to disable remote access.

That's actually a Version Upgrade and Upgrades tend to put things back to default settings, just have to disable again. Sometimes a Build update may do the same so be aware of the possibility.

According to your My Computer it does not meet the System Requirements for Win11.

Thanks for that reply. I was surprised that such an important security setting could be reverted to the default without any warning.

There seem to be a lot of changes for change's sake with each version upgrade and new and ever more obscure hiding places for management tools appear. Some peculiar sense of humour seems to be at large in Redmond.

My devices all lack compulsory compatibility features for Windows 11. Rufus is a great tool and all my processors contain the necessary instruction sets.

Happy Christmas.

But then one must keep in mind there's millions of computers and none are exactly alike with any other, always some one thing different. It's just easier to make updates do all the same things to all the versions of the OS. I still remember getting the Service Pack CDs/DVDs for those over 20+ years ago that we had to install.
