I just realized, not that it's important that I made an announcement, just being part of this forum is, but I never introduced myself when I joined up. I've been a member of the Windows forums since 17 Oct 2014 as a member of the Windows Seven Forums. I was never a member of Windows Eight as I just didn't see the point of changing as I found Seven a great OS. Prior to that, I used Linux exclusively as most of my work was done on Linux servers so using a Linux Distro made it so much easier to perform file transfers and upload webpages to various sites.
I retired a few years ago and moved back to Windows Seven in 2014 and found the Windows Seven Forums when I was looking for a solution to a problem I couldn't figure out on my own. I'm not one to post a lot, as I am a firm believer of, if somebody else already asked the question and got an answer, then why fill the forum with useless text if I can just read what was typed before. I joined the Windows Ten Forum the following year when I became a Windows Insider, because I really liked the way Windows 10 worked and I saw huge potential. Once Windows 10 was offered mainstream, I quit the Insiders group and became a regular and happy Windows 10 user.
Then, along came Windows 11, which seemed as though it was to be the best kept secret ever. I didn't even hear about it until August of this year (2021) and when I discovered how long it had been in the works, kinda wondered why all the secrecy? I became a bleeding edge insider again, just to see what it was all about but I must admit, I wasn't overly excited about it. I used it for a week before reinstalling 10. A few weeks ago, it was offered as an update to regular folks so I bit the bullet but I still can't help feel this is a downgrade from 10. Yes it's more secure but poor password usage can really make that pointless. Still, I will hang in there for now, I have a feeling, this is just a transitory version and once all the bugs have been worked out, Microsoft will blow us away with an exciting and innovative Windows 12, but who knows for sure? Not me!
