Thanks for replying @dacrone I have 3 browsers and have used a combinations of various extensions over the years including MBBG, Privacy Possum and Badger, Safe Web, Ghostery and uBlock origin etc. I found that they were doubling up on there selves so some were not needed. Over the last few days I have experimented with different extensions on different browsers and found for me on all the browsers (Chrome, Edge and Firefox) that I always use MBBG and Safe Web and now I have Privacy badger for trackers and AdBlocker Ultimate for ads on all three

The ones I use are to protect your privacy. Dark Reader is popular and used by many, try it and see it's easy to get rid of if it's not suitable

But I would avoid extensions that have not been updated for a year or more, malicious authors could take control of them.

I take you good point @TairikuOkami I am not too concerned about extensions from reliable sources, as the only one I use are very popular and downloaded by many and it is easy to go over the top with privacy etc.
