To disable sign in:
Open Command Prompt as Administrator:

Click this to copy to your clipboard and paste it into your Command window

Reg.exe add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge" /v "BrowserSignin" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" /f

Press enter

Open Edge, in the address bar go to:

Edge://policy

Click Reload Policies
Close and re open Edge.

This will disable sign in policy for your account in Edge. No red dot, no sign in needed.
this didn't work

this didn't work

I tried it before posting it and it worked for me which is odd. Best just use Brinks tutorial as apposed to changing group policies.

@antspants, did you just "Google" this? lol
Not sure why it matters at all.
Found it last year when I got sick of being nagged for signing into Edge
Copied it, it lives in Windows 11 fix, text file folder

may be it just moved to the right and you didn't notice? i tried on both
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge]
"BrowserSignin" = dword:00000000
and
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge]
"BrowserSignin" = dword:00000000

both didn't work

I also tried this command but it didn't work

Code:

it's funny how a simple google search show you how much people are annoyed by this icon

Quoting ya' from another thread about "How do you know?" :LOL:
I'm a barrel of everything that 'maybe' is 'possibly' 'only' 'always' 'sometimes'

Update:
So after using edge for many hours, I can report that the red dot is gone.
I dont know why it didn't work at first....maybe it required a system reboot to work.
also, I'd like to note that I applied many commands so I don't know which one did the trick, but most probably it's the one provided by @antspants
Code:
Reg.exe add "HKLM\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Edge" /v "BrowserSignin" /t REG_DWORD /d "0" /f

I'll investigate when I have time and report back.
