The upgrade from 23H2 to 24H2 is a "phased rollout".
MS will offer the update when they think your hardware and install is ready.

You've both missed the point of @mecanicogolf's question. It's not "when will my 23H2 get offered 24H2?"

It's actually "when will the Insider Beta Channel build switch from being based on 23H2 to being based on 24H2?"

The answer to that, in my opinion, is not for a very long time. For all practical purposes the Dev Channel is behaving as if it's the 'beta' for 24H2 now. That leaves the Beta Channel to test developments for 23H2 which is still getting new features, many of which have tricked down from 24H2. This one, for example....

No, we don't. If I'm right then it won't be until 23H2 stops being developed. That could be any time between now and 23H2's EoL on Nov 11, 2025.

It is farcical that 23H2 still receives feature updates.

Virtually every package in the world puts older version in maintenance mode only once a new version has been released.

To me, it is farcical squared to have an Insider version dedicated to an obscolescent version of Windows.

I can understand given the issues with 24H2 why people might wish to remain on 23H2 until 24H2 stabilises.

Who is the Beta version targeted at? To my mind, most people would want to stay in 23H2 for stability or they would have moved to 24H2.

I guess there is always going to be a niche of users who want to dabble in Insider versions with (allegedly) lower risk and Beta ticks that box.
