I am little puzzled. In setting up file sharing between two of my PCs, which was not without drama, believe me, the OS told me that I have to have Bluetooth enabled for this to work. I am sharing over the LAN, why do I need Bluetooth enabled?

I have Bluetooth and WIFI on my motherboard and both are turned off because I don't want the extra radiation. Since the PC sits on my desk, I especially don't want it in my eyes due to the risk of cataracts.

I just don't get why Bluetooth has to be enabled in this case. It's still turned off in BIOS, so what good does it do?

Bluetooth is a shorter range type of wireless between devices, not the same as Wireless/Wi-Fi which is also on the adapter. I use BT on my Notebooks with BT Microsoft and Targus mice rather than the Wireless mice that need a transceiver dongle in a USB port. BT can be used to connect a cellphone to a computer, some printers to a computer, headphones or speakers, etc.
