I upgraded to a new 1tb Kingston nvme drive, and did a clean install with win 11 pro. The drive is setup identically to the 512gb OEM Kingston drive other than it no longer has the Acer software running on it.
With the OEM drive and factory OS, my computer was drawing 19 watts out of the wall at idle without graphics card, 24 watts at idle with GeForce GTX 1050Ti graphics card.
New 1tb drive and clean install, computer draws 21 watts without graphics card at idle, 33-38 watts at idle with graphics card. It also seems to hang at a higher power draw levels of 52 watts after opening a browser or software for several minutes, or it sits and eats up 52 watts for nothing. There are no processes running, CPU at 1%, GPU at 2-3%.
I've tried other Nvidia drivers, from 516.94 up to the latest 531.61, 531.61 is the worst for high power draw, sometimes it eats 65 watts at idle with only a browser open.
